  • I'm new to this, and haven't heard of that application, but I'll give it a try.  It's a matter of getting control of the steering and throttle using PWM.

    The most difficult part would be to interface with the existing controls.  If it has electric steering you might be able to hack into that system.  Otherwise you'd need a pretty stout servo to turn the steering head. Mythbusters' Grant operates cars remotely in many of the episodes, and uses a typical RC TX.

    Another servo to clamp onto the throttle cable or operate the butterfly vale in the intake to make RPM changes.  Depends whether it has a carb or fuel injection, cable activated or Fly By Wire.

    I have a 160 lb. rover that I will ultimately place my APM 2.5 on, but I'm testing and working out all of the functions using a Traxxas Stampede first since it can't do much damage if it gets away from me.

    Of course you'd need a really good fail safe function.
