Cannot intialize battey voltage monitor

I cannot get the APM to read the battery voltage.

APM2.5

Ardurover 2.49

Voltage tapped off of 2S battery with potentiometer (8.2volts in=3.0volts out)

Monitor type is set to voltage only

Sensor (none),

I have tried changing the monitor point from A13, A0, and A1

The reading is always 0.00.  There's not even noise be read.

Parameter is attached

Any help is appreciated.

BTW the replaced ESC fixed the no reverse problem.

    @Jim,

What GCS are you using and have you attempted to calibrate the battery voltage monitor input?

    Regards,

    TCIII AVD

    • I am using a Turnigy 9X.   Vehicle computer is a APM 2.5.   I tried to calibrate.. Nothing happened when I entered the measured battery voltage.

I have experience with Arducopter, so I  think I know what I'm doing there.

Can you post a picture of how you have it wired up. The param file says pin 13, do you have it connected to the power module port?
    • I can post a pic later today. I have a potentiometer  connected to the battery. The slider is connected to pin 13. i have also configured and tried other pins.

    • Wiring Diagram is attached.

      See http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/common-autopilots/common-apm25-and...

Pins 12 & 13 are actually the SPI pins on the A side of the board. Outputs 9,10,11 are connected to PWM out not analogue out unless you move the solder connections

12 & 13 are only accessed via the PM port
    • Wow! I see.  So the software parameter configuration is in error.  It infers you can use any output pin on that side.

I also see that I had the numbering flipped also.  I thought the low end was the high end.  So much for depending on memory.

What do you mean by the PM port?

Should I configure for A0 ( and make sure I connect to the correct pin)?

      Jim

    • Ok, I configured for A0 and made sure I was connected to the correct pin.  It's working now.

Thanks much for to Bill and Thomas for the response.

      Pleasant Regards,

      Jim
