It occurs to me that it would be nice to have a remote GPS to set the waypoints on a RoboMagellan contest field.
I now have a 3D radio and a spare GPS. Seems to me one could program an Arduino (I don't have a 2nd APM board) to read the GPS, and xmit to the MP. Is there a switch input that could be closed on the remote GPS to indicate a waypoint?
Also, I'm not sure how much of the sensors would be needed on the APM to enable it to talk to the MP and not hang up.
Thoughts?

Maybe you thinking about FolowMe function ?
After studying APMRover2 code I saw directory named FollowMe/
Then I found page: http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/wiki/FollowMe
I' m not sure this is mature code ( probably no ) but maybe it is way to implement
