adding uart module to iris?

Hello,
I'm just getting started and I have a silly question. Can I buy the iris and plug-in some 3rd party module into its pixhawk?
OR am I better off buying a frame kit and pixhawk?
Basically I'm looking for the fastest way to get a flying drone and communicate with a gsm module I have that has UART port. any suggestions?

      Can you confirm the Solo props fit on the Iris+ motors?  Are they the same shaft size/threads?  I have seen the mod to go to APC 10x4.7s but those are not self tightening and need 3rd party prop nuts.  It would be great of the Solo props fit.

      Sounds good, I'll try a set.  Iris+ is a bit of a pig with the GoPro and gimbal.  A little extra oomph can't hurt.
