Transmitter battery

Hello again,Can't seem to find what is the lowest battery voltage you can safely go down to before replacing the AA batteries in the controller. Could only find the lowest voltage for the lipo batteries in the Iris.Thanks.Loran

  • Hi Loran,

The Iris+ ships with what is essentially a re-branded FrSky TH9X, which is pretty much a Turnigy 9x clone. I was just looking for that voltage range last night because I wanted to hook my transmitter up to a variable power supply for some testing. I believe the card that comes with the Iris+ lists 12v-9v. As I recall 9v is where the voltage alarm starts going off.

So I would say when your alarm goes off, by most accounts, you should land. You should invest in a LiFe battery for your transmitter. I just ordered mine a couple days ago.

Here's more info from forums where people asked roughly the same question. It appears the transmitter can go lower than 9v, but it's not recommended.
