Hi,
I'm new to the melbourne community and wanted to know if someone was interested in joining projects with me. If I brought an arduino metal detector does someone have a quadrotor capable of doing a lawnmower sweep so that we can do a scan of a beach for metals (with the results popping up in google maps blips)?

My googley search gave me this. Haven't read it but a trailer-based unit sounds clever.

(and remember this is DIY) - you might have to convert your own RC buggy.

The DIYD mission planner will do the lawn mower grid for you.

Actually this won't be possible as the metal detector is sensitive to anything above, below or inside it. Now that I think about it I'm not sure how to adjust the tolerance for the motors of the quadrotor or a rover.
G'day Andrew and welcome.
What is the mass of your detector. Every gram counts in this game.
Would a ground based buggy platform give you a faster path forward??
