Hi,

I'm new to the melbourne community and wanted to know if someone was interested in joining projects with me. If I brought an arduino metal detector does someone have a quadrotor capable of doing a lawnmower sweep so that we can do a scan of a beach for metals (with the results popping up in google maps blips)?

  • My googley search gave me this. Haven't read it but a trailer-based unit sounds clever.

(and remember this is DIY) - you might have to convert your own RC buggy.

The DIYD mission planner will do the lawn mower grid for you.

  • Actually this won't be possible as the metal detector is sensitive to anything above, below or inside it. Now that I think about it I'm not sure how to adjust the tolerance for the motors of the quadrotor or a rover.

  • G'day Andrew and welcome.

What is the mass of your detector.  Every gram counts in this game.

Would a ground based buggy platform give you a faster path forward??
