Rumor is we will finally be able to control a GoPro in flight.  That is actually pretty big news as far as I'm concerned.

For video, I am a fan of the GoPro... particularly the Hero 4 Black, but also the Hero 3.  It is definitely superior to DJIs cameras built into the Phantom 3/Inspire 1.  GoPro = bigger sensor, better color, better low light performance, higher frame rates at 1080P.  With Protune and Flat color, the GoPro really outperforms for its price - though you need to be comfortable color correcting and grading in something like Final Cut or Adobe if you are going to use Protune.  If you want to get rid of the fisheye, you'll need to shoot in narrow or medium at 1080p.  Or Shoot at 4K and correct in post.  The results are still better than DJIs cameras.  DJI should focus on drone tech and let companies like GoPro, Sony, etc provide the camera.
