Develop standard, re-usable inexpensive solutions for IP-enabled always-on UAVs over cellular IP networks such as GPRS, 3G, 4G etc.
Primary goal: Telemetry over low cost cellular [achieved in testing]
Secondary goal: Bi-directional GCS/Telemetry over cellular IP [achieved in testing]
Tertiary goal: High speed IP for streaming IP video over cellular 3G/4G
STATUS: Bi-directional telemetry over cellular IP (UDP or TCP) is now working. It has been flown successfully while logging live telemetry to a GCS at home, several miles away [distance is really unlimited]. Currently working on improving code, more testing and broader hardware support.

Hy
Tryed to get a DroneCell on an APM2 running a UDP comection to the MissionPlaner.
Has someone sucessfully done that?
Andy
Thanks Toby,
Time to change to Telstra I guess.
Cheers
Greg
Call up Telstra and ask for the Telsta.extranet APN to be put on your sim. You will need to use this apn in your settings. the code GPTEXB3 may help but you may need to ask to speak to someone's supervisor before you find someone who knows what you are asking for.
Good luck.
Hi from Australia,
I am looking at using 3g for a very simple project (ardurover). Unfortunately I have been unable to get any information about non-fire-walled services from any telcos in Australia. Has any member got any got any information on this? Toby I believe you are from NZ and have been speaking to Amplified Engineering, Did they give you anything about Aust? I have tried to contact them by email but have had no response.
Thanks in advance.
Yours in desperation,
Greg.
