ADS-b receiver options

I've been experimenting with UGCS for several months now. My primary purpose is mission planning for aerial lidar mapping and photogrammetry. One feature that is of particular interest is ADS-b capability and the potential for added safety. Is there any plan to support more hardware for adsb functions. Recently the FlightAware team released a brilliant USB dongle https://flightaware.com/news/article/FlightAware-Pro-Stick-revolutionary-USB-ADSB-and-MLAT-receiver-announced/221 that they sell at cost on Amazon in many countries. For 17$ this hardware appears to be remarkably high quality in my brief testing. Is it possible to use this dongle now with some configurations changes? Or is developer work required? Thanks for your time and a great product

  • Hi Chris,

UgCS 2.9 supports only microADSB (http://www.microadsb.com/).

We will support uAvionix Ping in near future.

Regarding FlightAware Pro Stick compatibility - i don't know, we don't have it.

You can check Pro Stick with any software compatible with microADSB, and if it will work, it will work with UgCS too.

    • Thank you for your reply, I will test the FlightAware stick and if it doesn't work perhaps I can donate one to your team so that it can be included in the future.
