I live on a lake, up to 30 feet deep, which has a rumored small 2-3' deep sandbar (shown in multiple charts) which I cannot find using charts, Navionics and my kayak. This is on Florida's Lake Wales Ridge, which is a limestone sand structure that has many sinkhole lakes with other interesting features. It would be great to know where the sandbar is because that is safer from gators than swimming near shore. My first project goal is to do a GPS-associated bathymetric survey of this lake and others nearby. CMAP Genesis synthesizes data from contributing boats using commercial fish finders/depth finders and interestingly, this sandbar is not shown in this resource. I'm not sure if time and use has changed the lake floor or if this contributed data is worse than USGS surveys. The sandbar is supposed to only be a few square feet in area, so perhaps it is being missed?
