About Me:
I am an Aerospace Engineering student at Iowa State University. A team and I are developing CyDrone, a multi-role, semi-autonomous sUAV at a price point within the budget of individuals and localized public entities.
Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I am interested in developing UAV technology and expanding UAV applications. Specifically, I'm interested in autonomy, swarm interaction and control, and human-computer interface. I want to work in the defense industry on unmanned aerial systems. In a current project, CyDrone, my team is exploring semi-autonomy, FPV, and aerial imaging. We plan to design, manufacture, and test a product that can be easily afforded (~$3k) by individuals and small local entities. The system will be used not only for land and infrastructure management, but also for the "search" part of search & rescue operations. Our current prototype, X-2, has proven FPV and semi-autonomous capabilities. X-2 is hand-launched and belly-landed with ease.
