"EagleTree uses the vertical interval to encode the live GPS position and height data into the video stream.  It is then decoded by the EagleEyes ground station and drives the pan tilt servos attached to the tracking antenna to follow the aircraft."

The airborne GPS data is encoded into the video in a part of the signal called the vertical interval.  This area is normally used for closed caption etc.  There is heaps of room for the data.  The video is received on…"
