Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

My favorite UAV I owned was a Parrot Disco. I used to launch it from my club's airfield to the marsh near my club's airfield. Then one day Parrot forced a bad firmware update .. on purpose to disable and ground the drones. I have been trying to build an fixed wing drone that has similar capabilities ever since. The closest I came was using Ardupilot with an old Sparky 2 flight controller. It did not have the 45 minute flight endurance that I had with the Disco. Even with a LiON pack I could only achieve 25 minutes with that plane. Also the EPO is cheaper than what the Disco was made from so the Nano Talon only lasted 2 years before getting brittle due to UV exposure. Not sure what I will be basing my next build on. It may not be a delta wing this time.
