About Me:

I am an aeronautical engineer of 30 years experience. I head up the Aero Design and Simulation group at the CSIR in South Africa (www.csir.co.za). Over this time I have designed and flown twelve different unmanned aircraft. Current project is an 8-hour endurance airframe.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

Currently funded to maintain our three UA systems and assist students with UAS related projects. I am the past chairman of the SA National UAS Policy Co-ordination Committee and ex-member of the CAA UAS Standards Working Group (which no longer exists). I used to manage the development of modelling and simulation tools for UAS mission modelling but am now focussed almost purely on the aurframe development side. We are currently busy with the development of our 8 hr endurance, 20 kg payload UAV.
