unable to calibrate compass for apm 2.8

i tried to calibrate apm 2.8 compass for the 1st time but during the calibration process it stuck on "21 samples more data needed 120 360 aim for yellow-green". i did rotate the apm 360 degs & chose "APM with onboard compass". but it won't go any fur
