About Me:

I am a 21 year old student, working on my bachelor's degree as a civil engineer, and would like to start using drones as a possible way to make money obtaining survey grade surfaces, and aerial photography.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I am interested in aerial photography, but especially 3D surfaces for mapping purposes. I am currently in school working towards my bachelors as a civil engineer. I work for a private consulting engineering company, and would like to explore the possibilities of obtaining our own up-to-date aerial photography and 3D surfaces, which could save hours of work walking out in a field for a topographic survey.

"Hi Marc,

I have not put much thought into the idea of getting an airplane. Besides a longer flight time, and faster speed possibly, what are some other benefits? We do have some jobs as large as 10 hectares, but those are typically large…"

"Please forgive my knowledge base, I am just getting into drones. What does DEM or DSM mean, do they stand for digital elevation model or digital surface model? Areas that I would want to cover would typically be open areas/fields, but there are…"
