APM Planner 2.0.14 on Linux memory usage seems a bit high ...

I recently installed and got to work APM Planner 2.0.14 on OpenSuSE 13.1.

When I start apmplanner2 me PC bogs down for about 2 minutes after the initial APM Planner splash screen is shown. It indicates 'Starting User Interface'
