About Me:

I am disabled, stroke, interstisial lung disease, blood clots, lung collaps etc - stuffed, but still making noises! My interest vary from Electronics to programming & have had hobbies that include R/C models & PC graphics. I am interested in science, physics & green ideas & open source & other free idea sharing. I am now 52 yrs & have a wonderful son & several step kids! I believe life is to be enjoyed.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

Many years ago, I had an idea, to help combat fires! I am not connected in anyway to any fire service, but see tradedgy everywhere fire strikes! So, I thought a similar aproach to a helicopter, but as a drone, could be used to help dowse those out of control fires, especially the big ones. Now, I am looking up the Arduino as a solderless development method for me to get back with single chip micro's & I see its almost already done! Thats how I found this site, via the AdruPilot Arduino!

"Paul, Thanks for that,  Were on a similar track & they are very stable. That "toy" idea, could probably be used on some diy drones, for improved stability too. Who knows, the KISS theory may be able to be used as a 'scaled' up idea for a demo…"

"avionics, hi & thanks for your comments. I guess I am looking at a global size potential & the comparitive cost (to me) of a demo scale model drone, should easdily be offset by by the current global cost of lives, let alone property & valuables etc.…"

Hello all, I am a newbie from Christchurch, New Zealand (born in UK though). A few years ago (well, quite a few), I was very much into my Electronics & R/C - just for fun & challenge etc. I would often think that a drone could be a useful addition…
