About Me:

I'm a computer science student currently attending RIT. My technological interests are varied: video game development, audio effects engines/hardware, telco stuff, etc... I have other interests as well such as guitar, American Sign Language, mechanical engineering, and robotics

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

UAVs are a natural evolution from regular RC and FPV RC. Firstly, UAVs combine the natural evolution of several technologies and disciplines: digital radio, GPS, RC Craft (engineering), AI pathfinding, advanced electronics, &c... Secondly, UAVs can serve a useful purpose to the private sector and to individuals/domestic sector. Observational security, search and rescue, meteorologic duties; as well as the advancement of new technologies. Mostly everything else is autonomous in our lives, so why not RC vehicles? Thirdly, the technology to do automation of this scale has existed for many years, but it hasn't been until the last two decades where it has reached the point where one can do it reasonably affordably, beating out the commercial solutions to automated and autonomous flight in terms of price.
