I have a heavy copter I am building with T-Motor U8 (environmentally sealed versions for bad weather) and a T-Motor 70APro ESC connected up to 2*5S (aka 10S) battery supply.
My first problem was I could not get them to work with the Pixh
Is there a set of shortcut / keyboard entries I can use to change modes in MP/AP - using the mouse is very slow going, especially if it is bright outside. I was hoping I could have a keyboard shortcut for RTL for example.
There has been some projects around turning Mavlink via 433/900Mhz radios into Bluetooth to allow easy multiple use from laptops and tablets. There is also experimental code to allow the 3DR radios to use multiple receivers to allow a radio on tablet
I successfully built my first heavy lift using U8 motors, Pixhawk, T70A ESC etc and launched it for two flights on Friday. All working pretty well, although it was very twitchy and oscillated quite a bit after a large movement.
Wind is a tricky beast. I am reading a lot on how much tweaking of PIDs make a difference and compromise between best wind handling and maintaining straight lines.
Looks like a nice case, but I can't work out how the X8 fits in there with the photos of the foam cut outs. It looks like the top part of the X without the bottom part
I have my first 3DR X8 with Pixhawk. Arrived 2 days ago. Beautiful condition, well packaged. Today I have been for 3 flights - all just hovers in stable (although I also briefly tested loiter).
In XCSoar.org we are load free Airspace data files (available most of the world) to help us navigate out of restricted airspace. Very helpful for special areas you might not know about, such as munitions factories.
