"I have done two builds, one with soldered in XT-60 connectors and one soldered directly to the PBD.
The XT-60 build had three times the soldering and added more weight. I prefer the direct to PDB method.
"Out of the four solution points I outlined in the original post, I used the third one, replace the ESC's, it's the only one that I know that works. The other solutions are not true solves, they are just work-arounds.
The DJI E310 kit ECSs simply…"
"Well, it looks like somebody figured it out.
I did eventually solve the ESC calibration issue by using cheap generic 20a ESC that I had leftover from a previous build.
But yes, it sounds like I had the same issue with the DJI ESCs/pixhawk that the…"
There is a known incompatibility issue with Pixhawk FCs and DJI Tuned Propulsion Systems. And I have seen various solutions online in multiple forums, including this one. Problem is, some of those solutions are months and even years old and the info…
"I have my props labeled properly, so that I mount them correctly, and I can assure you that the motors are spinning in the correct direction. If there was a miss mounted prop or an incorrect motor spin the quad would flip. It spins flat.
I rebuilt my quad. Some of the solders on the PDB were "weak". I replaced the PDB and upgraded to new 4cell. Happy to say that the power alarm issue is gone.
But now I have a wild counter clockwise spin issue, that I didn't have before. It…"
"Harry & John,
Your analysis seems the most plausible. I can see how "voltage drop" could be the issue. I'm going to look into this, rather than relying on a new build for QGC. Thanks again for your informative replies.
"Don,
I suppose I should drain the battery to around 3.4v per cell, give it a full charge then read and calculate. That's what I'm going to do, once the new QGC build is ready.
"Oh, alright!
Can I use my external, on-board voltmeter, seen in the pix of my battery, to measure voltage for the calculator? If so, I'm all set. I just need the new daily build, is that correct?
"Francisco,
Yes I have. I posted those settings two post ago. Here are those screen shots in the body of this message, so you don't have to click. Again, as far as I know (not much) these settings are correct. Am I wrong?"
"Okay!
To reiterate, I'm using a 2250mAh, 11.1v 3S1P battery on a 450 quad kit build with 1000KV motors with 30A ESC's, and I'm using the PX4v1.3.3 flight stack.
Attached are screenshots of my power and battery settings in QGC. From what I know,…"
"I didn't lose a cell, the other dude D Ohlarik lost the cell.
I did another test flight today, and I got the same results. I'll detail my steps in this thread in a few.
"You adjusted the setting in QGC, right?
Do you mind sharing what those are? If it solves my issues as well, then we'll know that those settings are proper.
"Derek,
Looks like we have the same issue. I only have one battery though, so there's no way for me to tell if it's a PX4 Flight Stack error or a battery malfunction. I understand that I should just get another battery to test that idea, but I want…"
The setting on the B6 for LiPo Charge is 2.2A 11.1V(3S)
And the B6 tells me that is is charged.
In fact I've replicated this issue twice. Before this last test I took the props off and drained the battery, to around 3.4v per…"
