UAV's present the ultimate opportunity to sell endusers the MOST efficient designs. once you take a person out of a vehicle equation, the vehicles' purpose will almost always be served by maximizing efficiency, given the constraints for the vehicles performance. of course there are many type of vehicles and designs of these types to fit a specfic purpose. the purpose i'm most interested in is keeping vehicles moving CONSTANTLY, for as long as possible in operation. the human heart---most interesting muscle of the body---because it's a pump that is always moving. One of my interests is also biomimicry. when you look at nature , of the persistent patterns we see in the metabolism of organisms from ameobas to yeast, bugs and humans---is SLEEP. I'm interested in creating vehicles that can operate for very long duration, by sleeping, or having a rest phase. during the active phase, the vehicle uses it's on board energy sources combined with harvesting any and all possible sources of energy in the environment that are available to the vehicle. during the the 'sleep phase', the vehicle stops using these energy sources and stores them and continues to scavange as much energy as possible. so in two words, continuous operation by way of active phase, energy scavanging, and sleep/storage. WITHOUT bringing the vehicle back for 'servicing'.
