ArduCopter Hexa with Heli landing gears and cameamount

Another ArduCopter Hexa proto. Final frame is starting to form properly.

This version has landing gears that are meant for 600-700 Series helicopters. Nice looking but a bit heavier LG's. Having specially made mount plates for this LG

    Looks great! and looking forward to seeing it fly! Do you think you can add a battery and get a longer fly time than a quad?

    Jani, how much does Quad frame with all stuff needed for flight weigh? And what maximum payload weight can it carry?

    As said just today we received new power pcbs etc so we have not been able to measure it's exact naked weight but it will be around 370-400 grams as far as I remember. Final weight will be announced when all Bits & Pieces have found their correct packing bags. 

     

    Naked Quad frame is about 285 grams, includes also power pcb and it's cables.

    Hexa will be out on pre-orders in matter or weeks now, just today we received one most important part for it which is power distribution pcb's. Now starts their production run and while we wait them to come we are working to finalize hexa frame parts and build few more test frames.

     

    Basic ArduCopter Hexa will look like this except that black camera mount. Check you jDrones site now and then and we will announce it here in DIYDrones too like all ArduCopter related anouncements

    I myself prefers the hexa over the quad and been waiting for official release. I hope the firmware that supports hexa will be released soon too.

    Jani, when will hexacopter kit be officially released? I plan to purchase a copter kit, however I can't decide whether buy quad or wait for a hexa.

    which means 8280gr for 6 motors?

    so you would recommend a maximum of 4000gr weight for these motors ?

    AR,

    On our thrust tests AC2836-358 gives 1380gr with 100% power with 12x45 prop.
