The Ardupilot Development Team held an "un-conference" (aimed at developers) in Canberra, Australia last month. The conference included several talks, along with flying in the field.
Ardupilot developers present included well-known Plane, Copter and Rover leads Andrew Tridgell, Randy Mackay and Grant Morphett, and developers Paul Risenborough (EKF), Leonard Hall (control and auto-tune), Philip Rowse (Pixhawk2), Michael Oborne (Mission Planner).
For those interested, the first two talks and demos videos are available on Ardupilot.org following these two links:

The way I see it having support for different flight profiles is definitely something that is required for stall recovery, since it could be considered a 3rd way of 'flying' the plane with totally different characteristics.
With the ability for Arupilot to now understand multiple orientations and correct/fly in different realms. Does this mean a nose down stall recovery may be possible?
Nose down stalls with current arduplane firmware results in a crash every time, now that we are able to go from level to nose up flying, could this be the ground work to allow for nose down dive/stall to recovered state?
it is finally fixed, sorry for the delay!
It is the login that is causing the problem. I went back and refresh and I can see the discussion forums. However, I cannot login with Google anymore. When I try I get the server 500 error.
So sad. Just checked again and it is still showing as much sign of life as Michael Palin's Late Parrot. I logged out as per JAB's observations and I got this:
500 Internal Server Error
If you are the administrator of this website, then please read this web application's log file and/or the web server's log file to find out what went wrong.
It seems to be related to user identification. Trying to browse with old user cookie fails with 500. Logout or using private mode and the forum works, but when I try to login again it throws "Unknown error".
Hope that helps!
its still fine here. Can someone who has the issue with http://discuss.ardupilot.org join the ArduPilot gitter channel:
https://gitter.im/ArduPilot/ardupilot
and ping me there so we can diagnose. Thanks!
Main page is fine, but discuss.ardupilot.org returns a 500.
Cannot access from Malaysia too. HTTP ERROR 500.
