Hi all, I designed a mount for the RFD900+ which goes in a JR module bay so that I can have long range telemetry with a bluetooth bridge for my smartphone / computer. The module uses the transmitter's battery as a power source. Also, you need to enable the external receiver for the Taranis to power the module.
The design can be downloaded here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1216911

I use Simplify3D to slice my files. It fills in all the overhangs over a specified angle with support and the supports are easily removed. Here is an example video of removing the supports. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHqRY4mGJIM&t=6m0s
Which way around are you printing it? Are you using supports?
I previously had the RFD900 packaged in my 9xr and didn't notice any problems though the air volume is less in a JR module. Regardless, more cooling is better than less. There is a ventilated cover on Thingiverse now. Cheers.
cool, but entirely closing up the heatsink on the RFD900 radio/s might cause you heat issues when running at more than 50% power.... u might want to ventiliate it some. :-)
very interesting and a very practical solution. Can u suggest any place on the net I can get a solution for connecting Taranis to my Laptop via blue tooth. I mean using Taranis as Joystick connected to mission planner via Bluetooth.
Excellent ! Is it possible, I can get a pair ?
