I wonder if 3DR will release the pixhawk2 along with their controller separately or we'll have to dig those things out of the SOLO?? to use with big birds?
So, how does this comport with what I thought was to be a multirotor produced by GoPro this year? Does this mean Gopro has dropped their plans to partner with 3DR?
THE WORLD’S FIRST DRONE MADE FOR YOUR GOPRO®. By working directly with GoPro, we’ve made Solo the first drone to offer complete control of your HERO3+® or HERO4® camera during flight. The new 3-axis gimbal delivers fluid HD video to your mobile device, offers in-flight recording control and access to GoPro settings—and oh yeah, it powers your GoPro, too. http://3drobotics.com/solo
Nice job 3DR - I see this going to Best Buy, now the end consumers can forget the AR Drone & Bebop for a real platform. For those that think the price is high, compare it to what you can get, Look at how expensive a DJI Phantom 2 Vision is - $1,299 or if you get the controller with the Bebop combo (you have to add the controller to even come somewhat close to comparing) at $899. This guy is a steal

Rob, is there any way to load a hexa or an octo firmware except of the quad on that pixhawk2, does it connect to MP at all?
It appears to work with any camera with a microHDMI connector. I've used it with a Sony AS100V and it worked.
It will for sure need longer legs...

if it is freely available in various stores, does it mean that the export restrictions of 3DR products have been lifted?
The bottom of the camera/gimbal is scary close to the ground in the picture. . .???
Are there any options to using a GOPRO and maintain the same functionality (i.e., live video feed, smartphone, etc.)?

I like to build my own, but I may have to buy one of these anyway just to test it out and supporting commercial growth of the hobby
