  • I have seen 2-3 posts including this one on the preorder. Other than meaningless bantering on rcgroups, there has been exactly one piece of useful information -- ie, 3DR is working on longer legs so camera is not so low to the ground. Other than this I have not seen any information to evoke discussions. May be 3DR has plans to help some conversations going and create some momentum. Perhaps after P3 stop taking up all the oxygen.
  • I've pre-ordered.

pretty amazed at the lack of discussion going on about the solo?
    am I missing something?

  • Anyone preordered the SOLO?

  • Gary, this craft looks fantastic, my TBS may finally be for sale :-D

  • Stick, if mode 2 looks like its still @ mid throttle, pilot error?

  • no manufacturers training so can't fly these commercially in Australia.

But DJI DO offer manufacturers training on their products. looks like I have no option. pretty disappointing from 3DR to be honest. Wouldn't be hard to parnter with a distributor and offer training, but i've had an official "No" from 3DR who told me to it is "easy to fly" and to "watch the youtube" videos.

I'm not sure telling CASA that they are "easy to fly" will suffice....

  • Man-O-man..  You DJI guys...  Phantoms don't even compare to 3DR products.  The only thing DJI has going is they flooded the market with a "cheap" spendy drone.  A lot of people purchased them. That is it.

It is inferior.  Sorry you all got "stuck" with one.

They are talking Smart Drones here.... listen..

  • Looks like a nice concept, but some things need to be fixed. There was a lot of jello in some of the test videos, and the copter was very twitchy, you can see it here:

    Also there is this:

  • This seems to be best spec type info available

  • I think 3dr is on track for slowly taking the market, especially now they have big support from retailers and gopro. Those that own a gopro will definitely benefit from this because you can use the camera on and off the drone. And looking at recent patent filings from gopro and some of the 3dr renders which looks to be adjustable camera mount we can expect better easy camera upgrades.

Lets see some specs already!! Motor/prop sizes, battery, flight times??

Nice video with old tech Ed ;)
