We had a blast at Maker Faire, which was the best one yet. This video captures the spirit of it perfectly, from the Game of Drones battles to the fire-breathing sculptures. Many thanks to the Maker Faire team for letting us do this!

Just to elaborate: This has been months in planning with Maker Faire, including a full safety review and approval. Everyone who attended MF was informed that there would be drones flying overhead and signed a waiver. There was a ground team under the copter at all times clearing the space under the copter.
I was a bit disappointed seeing it flown over people. only takes a minor problem to end up with painful consequences.
Sorry Chris, but it's even worse. There is clearly serious risk of injury (impact from the fall and cut & bruises from the props) if something fails on the multirotor if you fly like that. For this kind of aerials you should use blimps/airships. Whoever gave permission was wrong, please don't wait till it's too late... fly safe.
Giovanni: the dedicated area with the net was for Game of Drones (drone fighting, knocking each other down). There were many other areas of MF where drones were allowed to fly free, and this particular video was taken with MF organizer permission and supervision.
What's the point of having a dedicated area, with protection nets, and then flying anywere else, all over the crowd?
Epic fail.
Video editing has come a long way.
To be honest, I don't think flying over the crowd like that is a good idea. I have been guilty of it once or twice in the past but I would never do it now.
I wish I could have been there! Great video!
