I know that most countries have legislation in terms of radio / video transmitters. I also know that many people do not always comply with this legislation. What are your experiences and opinions with video transmitters?1. Frequency2. Power3. Range4. Range with Antenna tracker.5. Effect on GPS signal.6. LAWI know that there is no reason to discuss range since the law says in line of sight when you fly with RC. But still there is also some who "accidentally" gets to fly just a little outside the LOS.I have recently been in contact with a company who produce video / data transmitters.Any one in here who has experience with these transmitters.1.2.3.
Another important thing to consider is the included encryption option on some of those transmitters and receivers. FCC rules specifically forbid any encryption on 2.4ghz other than for remote control or telemetry. I would recommend steering clear of included encryption altogether just to avoid a potential hassle.
Its going to be about permitted frequencies. At the moment we are getting away with it because nobody thought that these 2.4 and 5.8 devices would be taken airborne. Right now authorities are scrambling to reclaim the high ground. (no pun intended) next years WRC will start nailing down the permitted frequencies for UAS use. For all things, control data and un encrypted video.
Yes you will still be able to use whatever you want, whilst breaking the law. if you want to sell systems or make money using them any potential customer worth his or her salt will do due diligence on your systems and discover that you don't comply.
That's not so much! I got 2,3Km easy (don't tryed to go further because the landscape and RC on 35MHz) with standard 3db on tx (500mW, 2,4GHz) and diversity rx with 5dp omni rubber duck + 8db patch.
Theseantenna are quite big and particularly used for 2.4GHz UBR (Unlicenced Band Radio) links, there are so many vendors making them. Ceragon is one such vendor.
You can not put such antenna on your plane.

Range?

Not possible on a small plane?
I found the range upto 10miles, without much video quality degradation. It was not possible for me to go beyond that otherwise it could be much higher
