Ok, I can honestly say, that I would never even attempt this with Arducopter.
Check out the AeroQuad website, if you're interested in learning more.

Well, I'm not comfortable to post AQ stuff on DIY... and we are far behind!
PID was default but the D at -350 for gyro in stabilize !
Patrice, next time you should post it yourself, so I don't have to. ;-)
Dave, not only do I love my fingers, I love my drone too much. I'm sure that AC can do it too, with a perfectly tuned set of PIDs. I wonder how much tunning Patrice had to do before he was confident enough to do that.
Jason, nice vid, but not close to what Patrice was doing, and I have yet to get my Naza flying in Atitude mode yet, I'm still waiting on my battery from HK. Funny the battery problem has less effect in Manual mode.
Jani, I challenge you to a video response, pls. ;-)
Ellison why not?? We have been doing it several times. If you look those original ArduCopter videos that we made while I was standing on roof of one highrise building here in Thailand.. We made same tests with AC.
After that we have been doing even more those tests.
But yeah. AQ levels really nice on this video. It only drops 2-3 meters during full drop. Congrats to Ted and others.
Not the most useful feature, but a good indication of how robust the AHRS is.
this one is also quite fun!

Never thought that I would do the front page of the DIYDrone... Yess, it's me throwing that thing.
I'm working on the autonomy Chris, I have position hold working as the ArduCopter and navigation is about to work...
Nice! Any update on autonomy?
