"I'm not talking about changing the content, just moving images around to conform to our posting rules.
Are you saying that moderators don't have the required intelligence to make such a decision that it has to be deferred to a higher authority?
Many…"

"@Sgt Ric, I'm wondering what reasoning is behind why you think the admin is more able to decide about editing a post to conform to the rules? I thought we were all equally able to use our own judgement, within reason. I know in the military, titles…"

"Yep, best case is the dev is still around, and makes the changes. Worse case is he posted it, and went to sleep, and the critical information is delayed a day.  We can't make exceptions, just because a dev posted it.  It's all about consistent…"

"I think editing the content is probably out of the range of moderation, but adding a photo where there isn't one is.  The devs need to be made aware of our publishing policies, or their posts simply will not be approved.  It would be unfortunate to…"

"Gary, I was just against having, "Bitch" in the title.  As for his build, I don't think we can filter out post by the quality or merit of people's design, regardless of how bad we think it is.  However, maybe we should ad a disclaimer in all posts…"

"I'm assuming by the "mod edit" that the "Bitch Face" blogger has been notified that the title does not conform to site rules."

"Ok guys, I just got an explanation from Julian about his post on the firmware update.  Apparently, someone approved it while it was in draft stage and the approver added an image before I did. Make sure the blogs are complete, before approving them,…"

"Well, Julian decided to remove the image I added, saying that it was not related to the post.  I informed him of the policy, and asked him to an image of his choice to put it in. I really would like to know who's approving posts with no image. It…"

"Not too difficult a problem, I just added an image.  I'll notify the member.  How did it get posted without an image?"

"There's actually interesting information being presented.  For instance I did not know that OP was available for Discovery F4 board, as DS had pointed out."

There's no nasty language or personal insults."

"Another thing I find deficient in Ning is that there's no "report spam" button.  This would make life easier, since we all know that interrupts are more efficient than polling, in computer science.  And also members then get to essentially vote out…"

"People who are in this group and unsubscribed to email notification are probably not too serious about moderating this forum.  Not sure we want them to continue being moderators.  Maybe it's time for Chris to do some housecleaning."

"Well, like I said that practice may filter out legitimate members. In fact spammers are probably going to cycle through or use random src IP numbers, if they are serious about spamming.
Also it seems a little too formal to preface every comment here…"

"Thomas, the problem is that smart spammers can easily high their IP src using easily available programs.  They will most likely choose a location in the US, and by blocking those IP numbers you may be blocking legitimate members from those locations."

"Chris, I guess it depends on the demographics of your spammers.  They're probably international, where labour is cheaper.  They actually have people dedicated to solving captchas manually.
Spammer blocking needs to be multi-level.  When I used…"
