I just wanted to let everyone know I've pushed an update to the SIM. What's new:
Upped iteration limit so it will run indefinitely.
Stand alone executables for Mac and Windows.
A new "lead" filter to remove GPS latency leading to improved accuracy in AUTO modes and loiter.(coming to main code soon.)
Inertia nav - you must up the rate_P gains by 3x to 4x to see a difference.
Added Sonar.
Lot's of under the hood enhancements.

Can some one tell me what the purpose if this is ? I am new to the hobby - and I have Turnigy 9X - and I even have a hobbyking junction box to allow hooking up my radio to my computer via usb - or even wireless - to allow the radio to be used in emulation / virtual flying and practicing etc . . - can this Arducopter SIM be used with my radio and junction box to virtually fly around and practice ? Thanks for your time.
First, Jason, this is great.
Do you have any insight in what good Sim values for standard 3DR configurations would be ?
The default Sim values are for a 500g quad, so I imagine the more substantial 3DR setups will have higher values.
I am modifying cross section, moment of inertia, motor delay, but I simply can't tell if I am in the ballpark of my actual quad. I have entered the weight (1700g) and motor Kv(880).
Thank you.
jasonshort can you add import/export configuration to file function to this simulator
Great!
Just to clarify, which rate_P gains should be upped for Inertia Nav? All of them?
Thanks!
(oooh- I like the lead filter!!!)
Hi Jason,
great job :) http://www.flashsandy.org/ Do you know this 3d flash engine could be nice add this ferature to your simulator.
Best
Roberto
Awesome! thanks for the stand alone versions. One question, how will it work with future code releases? It would be cool if somehow you could load a set of code onto it so you can test different sets of code. Anyway works great, this will save a lot of quads and will make tuning sooooo much easier.
Just a constructive comment on the visuals... would be nice to have a background with something to visually see how high we are... like trees/ skyscrapers... something... as we scroll the screens going up it's hard to know how many screens we went up... I know we have the altitude info right there in the left corner... but I "just" wanted a visual cue...
Nice work as always sir!
