  • oh no... Looks like the FMA CPD4 system cannot handle eCCPM mixing for the helis.

Hello Chris, maybe time for a holiday?

You and Jordi (and Sparkfun) have done such a marvelous job getting this project to distribution!

Now I see a flood of questions for you to keep up with.

I am sure you could use a break right about now!

ArduPilot doesn't handle stability. The FMA system might be able to handle a heli, but you should check with them. Our navigation systems only work with forward motion, so a heli would be a poor choice.
  • Can i use this system for a helicpoter to keep it stable. I believe the FMA copilot itself can be used, right?

Yes, ArduPilot controls/maintains altitude with the throttle.
  • hi
Ardupilot or Permarlani autopilot has altitude hold?
    regards

  • hi, this autopilot contain altitude hold?
  • @Chris: If I don't want to power the ArduPilot through the ESC, do I connect +5 volts using the "BATT" labeled pads in front of the "PSEL" jumper?

    thanks,

  • @ Chris: Once again well done to you and Jordi great work! I been searching the post and recall you had a interview with Curt Olson on Flight Gear and how to do basic simulation using flight gear's nmea. output.

Jordi was briliant in setting up his arm board with X-plane and Labview witch you guy's used for development.
What would you recomend the avarage DIYer should use to test and tweak his newly purchased Ardupilot before putting the valuble goods in the air?

Flight gear is a free download after all but as you stated a bit complicated for those starting out. Personly I think it is workable with a helping hand.

@SgtRic: The Futaba one just uses visible light, rather than IR like FMA. Doesn't work with clouds, at dusk, etc. Not as good.
