Gyro stabilized mount works quite well. The roll servo does seem to be a bit jerky, but from the forums it seems its one of the downsides to digital servos. What about a small air shock absorber? A trade off of reaction time for fluidity of movement. Although, the platform is for photos not video...
Comments any1? :)

P.s. When am I going to be able to use the APM v2.0 for the above??? :)

Hey Cliff. They are digital, hence more jittery than analog. Also direct drive, so more jittery.
The platform is for photography. So it doesnt matter that much.
would be Evin better if you put one of those $20 keychan cameras on it :P
Definitely a bit big for the go pro ;)
I couldnt put the slr on, cause I was using it to film with :) When Iv got the thing flying i will see if I can find a large mirror to do some self portraits...

That looks like a nice gimbal, abit big for the gopro isnt it? Or are you planning on using a SLR type camera?
Not to mention Im still waiting for a power distribution board from photoship one that they for some or other reason forgot to send with the camera mount... sigh.... The wait starts when it gets to south africa. USPS express mail to South Africa, 2 days. South Africa to client (50km from Johannesburg) 7-14 days, mostly spent in customs....
So far FEDEX is the best! I even had to wait for 12 days for a DHL from jdrones...
APM1 :)
Im kinda stalling on the build till the octo firmware is ready for the new purple baby! :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Very nice! By "ArduPilot v1" do you mean the legacy ArduPilot with an IMU board, or APM 1?
