AttoPilot IR Sensors Now Available!

Attack! But please one unit per person! The demand is so high, be nice with others! To buy it click here please.[Copy/Paste Update]:Also note that FMA XY is $43, the Z sensor wasanother $25, and the cable wasn't included. So that was at least $75with cables. Also, we have to pay a royalty to FMA and don't buy partsat the same volume they do. Plus, of course, FMA doesn't make the Z atall anymore. You might also want to note that our sensors are less than thePaparazzi ones ($125:http://ppzuav.com/osc/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=13_5&products_id=66&osCsid=08841e8ba7cd41f6d279d30be5167e22)and the same price as AttoPilot. Or you can make your own, just buy the 6 thermophiles for about hundred dollars from Digikey (http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=MLX90247ESF-DSA-ND). So basically these are tied for thecheapest full XYZ sensor solution in the world. However, if people want to wait for FMA to bring the XYs back instock, people can always buy two of them and use one as a Z sensor andsave a few dollars. (just ignore one wire).

    Jordi,

Do you have an example photo of how you put the shrink sleeves on the sensors or did you not use the shrink sleeves?

Cronselaar: if you've got two FMA XY sensors, you can use one of them as a Z, using just three of the four wires. This post shows what wires do what.
  • I just checked the link again, the price has almost doubled $7.79
  • Over at future electronics, you can buy them for ~$3 a piece. http://www.futureelectronics.com/en/Technologies/Product.aspx?Produ...

Is there a way to buy the z sensor as a kit or just the pcb or something?
  • Photo from a previous post showing the label issue.

    Bill,

You are welcome. Thanks to the people that first bought the sensors i was able to buy the thermophiles in bigger quantity's and lower the price.
  • Its great to see these up for sale! And thanks for lowering the price from $115 to $99, any saved money counts. Is there a BOM for the z sensor like there is for the xy sensor?
  • So let me get this right... FMA screwed all it's customers over by not selling the Z-sensor anymore, no more support for FS8 customers... And although i have the sensors i am still hopelessly screwed seeing that i now have to spend another $120 times 2 becuase i don't have the Z-sensor...
