Also note that FMA XY is $43, the Z sensor was
another $25, and the cable wasn't included. So that was at least $75
with cables. Also, we have to pay a royalty to FMA and don't buy parts
at the same volume they do. Plus, of course, FMA doesn't make the Z at
all anymore.

You might also want to note that our sensors are less than the
Paparazzi ones ($125:
and the same price as AttoPilot. Or you can make your own, just buy the 6 thermophiles for about hundred dollars from Digikey ( So basically these are tied for the
cheapest full XYZ sensor solution in the world.

However, if people want to wait for FMA to bring the XYs back in
stock, people can always buy two of them and use one as a Z sensor and
save a few dollars. (just ignore one wire).

Hi Jordi. There's 1 left in the store and I need to wait for my paypal to get credited. When is the next batch planned? And by the way, since I already have a XY FMA sensor, do I really need to get a new full XYZ set or could I possibly cope with only your Z sensor and some coding to get the XY and Z gains in line? If latter is possible, do you think about selling your Z sensor independantly? Thanks fro your input and hard work.

The next batch will be during this week. I was unable to make more because the damm sensors are so expensive! I was shaking because i invested all my founds to buy all the sensors i can, but luckily i sell them all =).

Yes you need exactly the same sensors. You can't mix them. Because the Z sensor is used to scale the XY and much be exactly the same gains. Even if you use different brands of components the gains may not match. I tried to duplicate FMA gains but always were different =(.

for each sensor sold, you must pay them? or just they ask a quantity of $ and then you can sell as many as you want?

in case one, how do they know how many sensor did you sold?

We pay a per-sensor royalty to FMA. Actually, to be precise, we're just making sensors for Attopilot, which is the FMA licencee and we pass on the royalty to Attopilot to pay to FMA. At any rate, thermopile sensors of this type are patent protected so anybody who isn't paying royalties is potentially breaking the law.
