Arsov RC Technology is proud to introduce a new vision of the PX4 v2 Autopilot board. The Arsov AUAV X1 is another elegant design from Phillip Kocmoud and Nick Arsov. Our goal was to product a high quality, compact, lightweight and cost effective alternative to the PX4 V2 or PixHawk autopilots. This is our first attempt to join the PX4 community after developing several successful designs for the MatrixPilot community. After we have finalized the design we will release the design files and schematics. The schematics will be released immediately to new owners. Initial supplies are limited and a deposit insures a boards in the first production run.

New power supply based on TPS63061 DC-DC Buck-Boost
The TPS63061 device provides a power supply solution for products powered by either three-cell up to six-cell alkaline, NiCd or NiMH battery, or a one-cell or dual-cell Li-Ion or Li-polymer battery. Output currents can go as high as 2A while using a dual-cell Li-Ion or Li-Polymer Battery, and discharge it down to 5V or lower. So you can connect a 2 cell Li-Po directly to the AUAV X1, and run it completely flat before brownout. Since it's a buck-boost converter, you can also power from a 5V BEC while still in regulation. Hi Nick,
The files you uploaded are for the 21000 series devices, which are 2 axis devices, versus the 21100 series devices which are 6+3 axis devices. Although there are some similarities there are very significant differences. Is there some portions of the library code you have found useful? I could see that perhaps the bitfield for the Scale Factor, for example, could be the same, although there certainly is no guarantee. The bitfield for the Power Mode would most likely be incorrect as there are more power modes for the 21100, etc...
My problem has been even more basic. When trying to talk to it by I2C I always get a nack and never an ack….

Does anybody have any actual experience with the Maxim21100? I have a couple sample parts but thus far have not been able to get anything out of them. Of course the data sheet doesn't help - it is missing all the register bitfield info, etc. etc.

Hi Toby,
You have many options for powering the AUAV-X1:
1. Any ESC with 5V, 6V or even higher...say 8VDC;
2. A DC-DC Brick - like the one for powering the PX4 or PIXHAWK;
3. A 2S Li-Po;
4. Any other source or DC-DC module with output voltage between 4VDC and 12VDC.
I personally recommend any source within 4VDC and 8VDC.
About the GPS - you may get any you would use with PX4 or PIXHAWK. The AUAV-X1 when using a ST gyro/accelero/mag set ( L3GD20H+LSM303D ) offers a compass on board, no external needed.

I am getting ready to place my order today for one of these boards. This maybe a silly question. Will I need to order the power module as well or is this module on your site not compatible with this board? Also will you have a compatible gps/compass module or will I need to order that part elsewhere? Thank you for the input.

We do know Invensense suggests the similar but smaller MPU6500 for new designs, so the MPU6000 will be sunset at some point.
