We're getting pretty good at sourcing components from China, and one of the best places to start is Alibaba, which is a clearinghouse of Chinese manufacturers selling wholesale, usually for crazy cheap prices and at volumes as low as a single item. A search for "UAV" is pretty interesting ;-)
Working with Chinese companies is a series of half-understood emails that usually ends with a price quote. Do watch for unreasonable shipping costs, however.
I've not had issues getting my gear from China but then I live in Europe. Only thing is we of course have the delays and costs of customs adding 2-3weeks time and 30% price.
Communication with Chinese dealers can be a bit interesting at times tho, seems they often simply ignore questions they do not fully understand.
BUT that said overall I've had no bad experiences with the slight exception of communication being difficult.
R2Hobbies also has an airframe which is like the Hunter UAV, dual engines etc for 15k$ I thought

It's a model of a standard UAV, not really a UAV.
