CAMERA 10X ZOOM, STABILIZED BY APM 2.5

After a year of having purchased the camera FH 10 with 10x zoom, the first experiences were poor due to the lack of a system of stabilization.

then decided dusting the camera again and stabilize with AMP 2.5. using the PAN and TIL my RVJET, to install it sideways. in my skywalker 1900. the camera has stabilization in the ROLL axis, the flight height is 300 meters and the loiter radius is 200 meters.

  • Airborne Innovations is who we will be selling the HiDef Video Transmitters for

  • Use this for on board stabilization board. About $700 though. Designed for cctv or OEM sony block cameras.

We have a demo one in our shop but haven't tried it yet...We will be resellers of them soon. We also have HIDEF video transmitters available as well. These make it possible to stabilize video live prior to transmit. Pump it into an on board dvr and then transmit the footage.

  • Thanks John. I am going to switch this to work with a webcam/live feed as well. This is a great head start!

No problem, I've added the src. But considering this is a fast and dirty test project just for myself, with little or no comments I will be very surprised if you manage to make sense of it and get it up and running. Libraries used are OpenCV, SFML and TBB (Intel Threading Building Blocks) for parallelism.

  •  John Arne Birkeland,

    Thanks for the SmoothFlight.exe download!

Is there any way I could see the source of your SmoothFlight app so I can port a Linux version of it?

  • ALK,

Just curious, you're looking for a realtime video stabilizer for use on the UAV or on the ground station?

John, nice work. I'm looking for a real time video stabilization software but had no luck. I do like Vreveal that does a pretty good job in real time stabilization but the version that accepts live video is over US$20K and thats the problem, every "real time" video stabilization oftware costs a fortune. Does anyone knows a cheap or free real time live stabilization software?

I'm asking for a imint vidhancer trial to take a look, I want to test their real time mosaicing software that I think is great for UAVs. Does anyone knows a real time mosaicing software?

  • John,

My network is blocking the link to your program. Possible to get it in any other way?

    Thanks,

It uses FFmpeg for video decoding so any of the usual formats like mp4, mkv etc should work. I downloaded you video from youtube (mp4) and it played just fine.

  • John.

I'm trying to run, but fails to work for me. works with any video format? any size of video?
