After an accident with the octo, i've got 2 motors shaft broken. Since there isn't a replacement shaft, i bought one of the following shaft and use it with the DT750. The steps for DT700, DT900 and DT1000 are similar:

Thanks for video Bernardo. I would like to add that it's better not to hit metal on metal. Use a buffer on the vice, like aluminium or thick plastic to protect the motor bell housing. For the motor shaft, avoid hitting directly with the hammer. In your video you cut the shaft, so not so important, but with a shaft of correct length use a punch (or nail) always. Strikes on metal to metal changes the metals properties i.e. it's strength*. I posted recently this post on how to change a motor shaft see http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/new-prop-adapters hope this helps others as well.

*in this case the change in the metal properties may be negligible, but it's a good thing to know ;-)
