Community Drones : A Short (unprofessionally made) Clip

Dear all: Thanks lot for all the insights, time, information and most importantly is the spirit that you all share here in DIY Drones. It is just a quick post as I am still in Borneo and not having too good internet connection. We just want to share a short (unprofessionally made) clip that we (hardly) tried to make. I hope it will give you all some information on how far (or how slow) we are now in trying to keep the work going.

    Thanks for your attention and time. Keep up the good work also ! I'll have to learn lots from you all. Martin is connected to community drones. I have also been in Papua some weeks ago for the community mapping. Good luck and stay in contact

    Hi Rai, good work. For your info, I am associated with Conservation Drones and fly mainly fixed wing drones in Sumatra (based in Medan). Have also flown a bit in Kaltim near Balikpapan. The community mapping idea is a great use. Keep up the good work.

    I also noticed Martin Hardiono in the video in Papua... is he associated with your program?

    @Waladi: terimakasih Pak! For the aerial video we use Mobius Cam and for mapping we use Canon SX 260 hs, SX 230 HS and Canon S100 all flashed with CHDK (Canon Hack Development Kit). We definitely are indebted to Lian, Keeyen and Flightriot (Conservation Drones) for their spirits, information and sharing. We are also indebted to Sukabumi Aeromodeling for his continuous supports. We are also indebted to this community! The drone we used were DIY tricopter and quadcopter, however we are now using FX61 Phantom, Skywalker and Ansley Peace Drone as our platform (thanks so much to Nguyen, Flightriot and Ed of Experimental Airlines). 

    Lessons learnt, hummm quite lots :). We lost several drones mainly due to the human error. But yeah we want to establish community drones as part of community works so we try our best to use a rather cheap and affordable drone which we can build by our own but still perform well for our needs (that's why we chose Ansley Peace Drone). 

    @Stanley: Thanks lot mate! yes, we work lot with the local dayak tribe in Indonesia (however we are in contact with Iban of Malaysia as they are also interested). 

    @Lianpinkoh: Thanks to you! most of the credits go to you and Conservation Drone! Hope that we can somehow meet somewhere! Thanks again!
