The new Condor Skywalker 1880 is now ready for sale at FPVflying.com.
The Condor skywalker is made out of nice black EPO foam just like the black X8 wing.
The new wing design is made for better performance.
More payload - longer flying time.
Here are some pictures to see the difference between the Skywalker: 168, 1900 and the Condor 1880.

No chance of weight reduction, not with cameras and extra batteries to carry. So changing the wingtip and extending the wing (or changing to the 1900's wing but it has a similar planform) are other solutions I'm considering.
I'd like it to be aerodynamically close to optimum if possible though.
Weight reduction will work better than changing the wing in the short term.
I found this image when researching wing tip planforms and tip stalling from a book called "General Aviation Aircraft Design: Applied Methods and Procedures
By Snorri Gudmundsson". It shows stall progression on 3 different wing planforms.
An 1880 Condor that I'm flying will tip stall quite aggressively when flown too slow and I'm trying to figure out if a wing tip planform change would negate or minimise this tip stalling tendency?
It seems that the tip used on the 1880 reduces induced drag but could it be at the risk of an increased tendency to tip stall?
Great model and loads of room for radios and batteries and other FPV stuff. looking forward to getting this one in the sky!
Any comment regarding condor 1880 vs skywalker 1900?
Just got mine today! Aside from a few dents on the wings and an exploded epoxy container everything looks great. Cant wait to put it together, will probably have to wait until after sparkfun avc.
It's really too bad the manufacturer has gone to a single stiffening rod as opposed to the original two on the earlier Skywalkers. I'm up to my 3rd Skywalker and the single rod wings are getting loose very quickly at the wing root.
Apart from colour are there any differences in properties between white and black EPO?
Looks good will you be able to see it at dusk?
Excellent Arashi !
