Having a problem with your APM? No worries! I'll hop on the next plane and personally come check out your board, wherever you are. It's the least we can do.

For example, John Stuart was having trouble with his ArduCopter. As it happens, he lives in Cape Town, South Africa, which is a bit far from San Francisco. Not a problem! 24 hours of air travel later, and here we are this afternoon checking out the hardware near his house. And now it's working great!

Seriously, I just happened to be in South Africa with my wife on a speaking tour and we figured out we'd be just minutes from John's home, so we managed to meet up. He's got the coolest collection of multicopters I've ever seen. Mikrokopters, Droidworx and a couple ArduCopters, plus a bunch of planes getting ready to go. Plus he lives in one of the most beautiful places in the world in which to fly (the wine country outside of Cape Town). Thanks for the hospitality, John!

It's always great fun to meet up with DIY Drones members in the real world. We're looking forward to scheduling a meetup in London next month, too.

What an excellent service! :)

Chris, could you tell more, please, about meetup in London?

Still working out date and time. I'll post in that thread once my travel is locked down.

Ok, thanks. I would really like to get to meetup, but I'm not sure whether I can make out all documents required for the trip in time...

Chris, let us know if you are coming up to Johannesburg or Pretoria area, I believe there are many guys on this side, like me, who would like to meet you

Amazing !

If you are coming up to the south of France to swim in the "Calanques", let us know :)

I'm very interesting to know how to solve my USB communication issue.

No problems to report from Melbourne Australia so you will just have to come for a beer :)

Awesome customer service!  But as it will become difficult to be everywhere all the time, I think it is time for a fleet of drone repair drones.  And they may as well be self-replicating too.

Do you think those clouds are made of water vapor?  No, it's just DIYdrones coming to adjust my autopilot.

I salute you, good sir!

Yeah Chris is not joking, how many times does one get the Chairman of the company in on a support call?!

It was great meeting Chris & his wife and chatting about DIYDrones and other stuff. He also showed me some tricks in APM Planner and was able to analyse the issue with my APM Board. For a guy of his achievements and profile, he is certainly down to earth and extremely approachable.

I think what also impressed me was Chris' vision for business and his innovative cooperative business model. The way DIYDrones works, and how it draws in and benefits such a broad base, is a lesson for all of us in business, not just in technology or knowledge industries. In the context of the current crises in the world economy, coming as a result of greed and deceit, it really is the only way forward for business.

To the other SA DIYDroners - guys, I know some of you have been into this way longer than me & have not had the opportunity. I guess living down the road from Spier has advantages hitherto unexpected!
