Sigh. Prepare for loads of credulous coverage, matching the wave of reporting on the Pirate Bay's stoned suggestion that "we're going to use, er....GPS drones!....to file-trade from the sky. With Raspberry Pi."

@Rob a teenager on a push bike is all weather and fairly cheap to operate.
Who would pay for all the pilot training???
I think its a most excellent viral ad or prank and for that can be applauded but I expect as Chris says there will be plenty of its a world first type serious reports about this.
@ anfroholic
just saw the video... totally unrealistic numbers about costs and maintanance of the vehicles (1000$ + 100$/year). Even hobby drones cost more than that :-) An we are talking about a business here. And then start talking about reliability. The car example fits: A normal new car works for thousands of km... (normally :-)
Whois research shows its registered to one 'Stars Simpson', if you'd like to get in touch their email is stars@mit.edu (which is awesome).
Really expensive? Compared to a car and driver this is comparatively cheap!
Oh I wish this was real...
Its for sure an April Fool, it did raise a smile though. Beats me how a business model could make a case for delivering a $5 item with a really expensive thing.

It's not that it isn't possible to deliver something using a drone. It just lacks something in the area of feasibility currently. You would need a wide open space for the drone to drop off the pizza, or you would probably start losing drones and pizzas. If people were willing to pay for a rooftop drone landing site that would be cool. I can see couriers using drones for point to point deliveries during rush hour in a city.
Wow, we had a pizza idea similarly...maybe in 10yrs...
Beat us to it...
someone's got to get written into history as the guy who told Orville and Wilbur that it won't fly...
