  • I hope iris (iris owner) gets the battery/flight time figured out... This looks to be a great platform for that quick application. .

    Agreed.
  • Ughh, I always get the shivers seeing (especially toy grade) multicopter videos flying in the streets over people.

  • Is there any comparable system for diy/ardu* regarding remotely change of camera parameters and transmission of (encrypted?) hd video?

  • Some of that stuff seems to be of practical use. However, can you imagine hundreds of drones flying around, all at one time? Talk about air traffic congestion!

  • Not my video, I just saw it on various news sites this morning. Unfortunately a lot of people think this is feasible now. All this talk of Amazon delivering packages with drones. I frequently have those outside of this technology mentioning the Amazon example to me. Like you said, they don't realize the technology and regulation is years away from having low altitude autonomous air traffic.

While the Phantom is a great little copter (I have owned one myself). It's small size and bright white plastic body just perpetuates the conception that it is a toy and could do no harm.

  • @Steve, nice video. The bad thing is that I know a couple of people who would easily believe that is actually feasible and realistic as of today. Those are the same people who will buy a Phantom expecting it to fly by itself for hours, and so on.

  • @Steve: Wow. I kept thinking that this was gonna be an SNL skit. Yikes. Please, no, this is just taking it too far.

  • I have to say, that gimbal and camera seem to be working very well.

  • Don't worry, soon you can just charter a drone via the cloud
