Today I'm proud to introduce you Drone Configurator.
I designed this tool to help people choose their drone parts by :
- Simulating their configuration and giving them easy to understand indicators like flight time, thrust to weight ratio, ...
- Comparing the prices of the parts from various stores
Drone-Configurator is an alternative to ecalc as it can simulate the drone behavior but it works a different way.
Instead of basing our simulation on motor specifications, we choose to use real life benchmarks to be as close as possible to the reality.
Our tool is easy to use as you just have to select the parts you need from our database and check the results, no need to understand very technical data.
We already reference lots of parts to cover most of the users needs but everybody is free to propose new parts so we hope the databse will grow fast. Please ask us the parts you need :-)
Drone Configurator is already available in English, French and Deutsch, we are looking for volunteers to help us translate it in other languages, contact me if you want to make it available in your laguage.
I hope you'll find Drone Configurator usefull, I put all my love on it :-)

Another observation : the configuration http://www.drone-configurator.com/configurator/195/ that you say weighs 2658g" and flies 51 min in hover is wrong on both data : it weighs more than 3kg, being emtpy (no payload at all, no flight controllers, no PDB, no cables, etc) and will fly for a mixed flight time of about 17 minutes, certainly not 51 minutes !
Can you describe how you display your weight and flight times ?

May I suggest a few changes - improvements ?:
-Indicate in the results how many motors. No indication for X frames if you give the data for 4,6 or 8 motors.
-Indicate clearly for how many motor(s) you indicate the thrust (is that for one motor, for all of them, if yes how many ?)
-About the weight you indicate : it is not clear if it is the total weight with or without batteries and how many batteries.
-About the flight time : it is not clear for how many batteries or how many total MAH it is calculated
-In the select your config screen: you have a menu on the left to select characteristics. The selection does not produce any effect with internet explorer (tried IE11 on win 7). Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
-The "Other - Weight" box in the config does not work either when you click on it (same IE, Win7)
