An award-winning New Zealand Southland farming family are looking to the sky for inspiration to reduce costs on their hill country sheep, beef and cropping farm.
They purchased a $4000 drone package from the USA and hope to realize a $40,000 yearly savings in time and fuel costs using the drone to monitor their sheep flocks.

Then I read the comments section. It looks as if they are in the same spot we are in the US with regulation.
Oh well. The wife would have probably never agreed to a move half-a-world away anyway.
And that's some lovely country there to shoot video of from a drone, looking forward to hearing more about their successes using multi-rotor UAV technology. The young man should become an admirable pilot quite quickly.
