SOUTH OF ENGLAND 'DRONE ZONE' MEET
We would like to invite anyone interested in amateur unmanned systems to a get together in Guildford, Surrey on the 30th Oct 2011.
This will be an informal event, which give people the opportunity to meet fellow enthusiasts, see the systems and fly. In particular, we are hoping to get interest from the 'Ardu' community (i.e. ArduPilot, ArduCopter, etc.) although anyone with an interest in unmanned vehicles will be welcome.
Please make a post below to show your interest and notify Martin from www.buildyourowndrone.co.uk at events@buildyourowndrone.co.uk using DZ2 in the subject line, if you intend to come so that we can get an idea of numbers. There are a very limited number of places for this event! Please note that this
event will be held in a different location from the last DZ held in June this year. More information on the last DZ meeting can be found here.
There will be a small charge for attending the DZII (£10), this is to cover the cost of the venue, which is outstanding with a lots of room for flights, a room to set-up your equipment and cafe for light refreshments.
Details of the event, timings and location will be mailed to you upon registration.
If you have any questions please do let me know.
Regards
Martin

If you don't manage to get internet: what I normally do is open the ground station on the laptop, focus on the area I'm going to fly and then hibernate it before going to the field.
If the weather's good, will you be flying the UDB4 Pete? Looking forward to seeing it :)
The set up for the day is looking very good Martin, can't wait!
Regards,
Colin
*****Update*****
We are working on a way to allow use of the internet at DZ2 site at this time via a hard wire / wireless connection so if you have your GCS / laptop please do keep it to hand, there will power an a place inside to set up your equipment.
I have been asked to remind people that there is only going to be electric powered flight at this site, which I doubt will be a problem, I don't know of anyone using a gas UAV just yet :)

Martin.

Hello Pete,
I do have a space left, I will email you the information a little later today, I should have the new Dev board in stock very soon, will be great to see one in action!
Can you send an email over to the the events address above so I can cc you in on the latest information.
Regards
Martin
I'm happy to bring all my own computer kit. (2 computers). What I'll need is a table, and access to 13Amp socket. (I'll bring my own plugboard). I will also need wireless access for Google Earth. (HKGCS and QGroundControl). (We could probably hotspot that off my Android phone; once the scnerery is loaded it won't need to update much).
I do have xplanes 9 but I don't have a laptop that would run it decently, if I manage bootcamp my Mac book pro, I shall bring it along
Martin,
Any places left. I would like to come and fly a UDB4 prototype V2 (or the production UDB4 if it arrives).
We could also chat about the logistics of whether I could demo HILSIM in X-Plane with the UDB.
Best wishes, Pete
