ESPN's Winter X Games allowed to film with UAV.

ESPN is adding camera-carrying drones to its coverage of the Winter X Games, using the cutting-edge technology to cover snowboardcross and snowmobiling events this week in Aspen, Colorado.

This being in my "backyard" so to speak, I am pleased to see a major US event stepping up and using a UAV to film with.

  • Stay tuned.... I know the guys involved (I have espn's r&d cinestar on my table, uses a Procerus Kestral, unfortunately that one's grounded).

    I hear it's the same company that hosted the FilmLA/MPAA event couple weeks ago if anyone here attended (it ran with the usual technical difficulties :)  + following Q&A with the 6 exempted companies, decent event). They have the common setup we all know:
