First of all thanks for all the feedback .We have been busy improving the system and today I am pleased to announce the following:
- Support for Tlog, Log and Bin. We also unify the upload boxes into 1 but to do this we had to drop support for logs without GPS Week.
- Flight modes for Tlogs.
- Able to process logs without account. We felt that there are people who just want to process 1 log or try out the system without signing up. So we have implemented a public log upload ability at the front page.
- Auto scaling of data points according to flight time hence short flights will produce sensible graphs and long flights will have data trimmed.
- Battery information such as mAh, Average current with ability to summarised by modes.
Total mAh is important because actual flight time is not dependent on how much mAh that is stated on your battery pack but rather how much useable mAh there is. There are many reasons why useable mAh is way below rated mAh.
i) Your battery manufacturer lied on the rating
ii) You are drawing high Amps. Ratings are measured using discharge 1C.
iii) Battery is old
iv) Your personal rule for cut off voltage per cell is above 3.0v.
Looking at average Amps drawn together with Total Amps also allow you to quantify the improvement if you upgraded the battery.
We also introduce mAh/km information. We think this is important if you are planning to do straight line flights like drone delivery, mapping. What is important is how efficient your platform is. Ideally if you upgrade your motor/propeller/battery etc, your goal is to minimise mAh/km for the same payload. This is also similar to cars which use km/litres. It offers a baseline understanding of fuel efficiency between car models
- Flight details such as average speed, distance travelled summarised by flight modes. Most UAVs are switched on (manual mode) but not flying hence data for all modes might not be relevant. Filter to the mode that you want to understand.
- Error messages are now plotted on map and shown on log list page.
(Map shows throttle failsafe error, later deduced to be 2.4Ghz jamming in the area)
- Ability to download uploaded logs
- Ability to sort flights by date
- Improved UI and backend
Thats all for this update. The service is free at www.exmaps.com . I hope you give it a try and let us know how to improve. Meanwhile, fly safe!

Very well done Weiliang! Polished interface and love the batch uploading feature.
Any chance of displaying battery mAh data from .log files? This is due to not always flying with a GCS connected to generate .tlog files.
Pretty spiffy! Thanks!
Weiliang, I sent you an email. I now realized that it's not an original .bin log, but a .log file that MP converted.
Rostislav Kolotov if I am not wrong, your logs are old and hence do not have GPS week, therefore the system will take upload time. Since all are uploaded at the same time, they will carry the same date. Do you mind sending me the log file hello@exmaps.com.
Martin yes that is really weird. Did you open the log in excel and saved it again? If possible send me the log as well? Btw, Max filesize has been increased to 150MB.
I uploaded an ArduPlane log yesterday I encountered the following issues:
Rostislav Kolotov please send the logs to hello@exmaps.com so that we can take a look. Appreciate your help. We have never encountered that error in our internal tests.
In the spirit of constructive feedback there are two things I feel could be really useful to myself and others.
1) Would be to give an option/extra column for flight time on the main log list instead of just total time - I notice it calculates total flight time at the top fine though which is great.
2) Another great addition would be a free text field for user notes on the flight. This would be handy for future reference as I can see myself listing motor/prop combinations and parameter info as I'm testing different configurations. Combined with the great new battery monitoring this could be a really powerful tuning aid.
Thanks again - awesome service!
@Franc, yeap we discussed that possibility. Better would be to turn on and off lines according to modes. That way we can minimise "spaghetti" on map.
@Oscar, flight uploads are already sorted by calender date, with latest one on top. Is there something I am missing here?
Hows the battery data turning out for you guys? I happen to chance upon a russian flight which was uploaded to public. Amazing. 2hrs 5 mins flight time 106km 3+A average drawn. I wished more people can share such flights.
Some of you are not able to upload flight logs. We are investigating the issue now.
@Weiliang, well done clean interface. I dig the errors on the map view as well.
It's also really handy to have the ability to find the UAV's position in flight relative to
time with the slider.
I'm a new UAV pilot and appreciate the total flight hours on the home dash screen of the bird.
It was also neat to see you included the Vcc data along with voltage and current through out the flight.
Thank you to the APM developers who saw the value of Vcc info.
If I could make one request of Exmaps, it would be to move away from the bread crumb navigation for switching between list of flights screen and the data from the selected flight. Although I appreciate the simplicity of bread crumb nav and it's minimal impact on screen real-estate; I personally would prefer to navigate between flights by calendar date.
Reason is, I fly just about every other weekend after making adjustments and tweaking the bird. I tend to think of my flights by weekends or trips based on location. Thanks for your time.
@Hugues, you mean those uploaded via our front page? Those are public and stored in the cloud but will be deleted periodically.
