Fortune just reported it as well, we live in interesting times, maybe Google has enough clout to get the FAA to look at UAS use in the USA.

I imagine a bigger motor is easier to build though, since you can use looser tolerances.
@Jawahar - Yes, these motors are lower KV than the 2s and 3s motors we use on our smaller machines, because they are driven by 6s (18 AH!) battery packs. I'm afraid you won't find them at HobbyKing. The MD4-1000 specs can be found here: http://www.microdrones.com/en_md4-1000_tech_data.php
One impressive spec that isn't listed there is the prop size - 700mm!
